In 2024, the EVH SA-126 Special will challenge the traditional notion of a modern guitar with Wolfgang Van Halen's innovative design and visionary approach to the 21st century instrument.
The SA-126 model is a prime example of innovation in action. Combining elements of both semi-hollow and solid body guitars, this hybrid features a chambered or center block solid body design fused with a bolt-on neck, along with premium features often found in top-performing guitar brands like a slim neck, jumbo frets, and high-output pickups. The brainchild of Wolfgang Van Halen, this instrument was expertly crafted for maximum versatility, achieving a perfect harmony between aggressive rhythm tones and lightning-speed lead playing.
The new SA-126 boasts a chambered Mahogany body, reinforced with a basswood Centerblock for added stability and superior tone production. It is complemented by a maple top on solid finishes and quilt maple on transparent finishes, along with a 5 ply body binding. The neck features a 22-fret 12”-16” compound Ebony fingerboard with jumbo frets and triple block inlays on a graphite reinforced mahogany neck. With a scale length of 24 and three quarters, this instrument offers a modern yet classic feel that is both familiar and comfortable. Additionally, a spoke wheel truss rod adjustment at the butt end of the neck allows for quick and easy adjustments on the go.
